bake-date 2009
So each year, my friend, Lizzy, and I have an annual bake-date where we cook/bake multiple things and chow-down....like big time. We always end the day with both of us in a HUGE sugar coma. It's quite delicious.
Above? Our cast of characters for epic-sandwich-making: mozzarella, locatella, and asiago cheeses, cucumbers, tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, and capers. We piled the ingredients on a plate and then layered them all over spices of whole grain bread.
There's Lizzy chopping up broccoli! And yes, broccoli went into our sandwiches, too.
Look at that beauty. Now to you meat-lovers out there, don't get me wrong, slices of turkey (or ham, or prosciutto) would be delicious in there, but I'm sure one bite of this would convince you otherwise of its sans meat deliciousness. Seriously. :)
Next on the baking agenda....this Chocolate and Peanut Butter Streusel Cake. Now, there was supposed to be streusel on top, but Lizzy and I fail at reading directions. Sooooo, the streusel ended up being baked into the cake. Niiiiice! So yeah, 2 CUPS of brown sugar went into that cake. Just a little extra sweetness, right?
And then, because there just wasn't enough chocolate-y peanut buttery enough, we had to concoct something else: Brownie Peanut Butter Cups. Oh my, that fact that these exist are just proof that God loves us and wants us to eat chocolate and peanut butter. Together.
So after the deliciousnesses were baked, the Brownie Peanut Butter Cups had an extra touch to them. An indentation goes in the middle, which gets filled with....what? Yes, my friends. More peanut butter. And then topped with a few chocolate chips.

Two words. Ohhhhhhh yeahhhhhh. Sign. I love being a child of the '80s, what with the creepy music videos and such. Speaking of music videos....does any one else out there think that Lady Gaga's Bad Romance video seem so '80s-esque?! I do. Gets me every time.
Rawr rawr ah ah ah. Ga ga, oh la la la. ;)
